Naniwa

The Naniwa is an institution in Duesseldorf's Japanese Quarter and has for years been one of the most popular addresses for ramen and Japanese home cooking. The rich noodle soups, crispy gyoza and hearty rice dishes have a loyal following. Outside the small place near Immermannstrasse a long queue forms regularly, as it is not possible to reserve. Those who put up with the rush experience authentic Japanese cuisine at fair prices.

Cult Ramen & Gyoza

The Naniwa is known above all for its rich ramen, which convinces with long-cooked broth, springy noodles and hearty toppings. Alongside them, crisply fried gyoza and hearty rice dishes are among the guests' favourites. The kitchen stays authentically Japanese and uncomplicated, with fair prices that suit the down-to-earth character of the house.

A Long Queue

The great popularity comes at a price: outside the small place a long queue forms regularly, as reservations are not possible. Especially at lunch and at the weekend the waiting time can become noticeable. Regulars factor this in and take the rush in their stride, because in their view the quality of the kitchen is well worth the wait.

Location in the Japanese Quarter

The Naniwa lies near Immermannstrasse in the heart of Little Tokyo, as the Japanese Quarter is also called, surrounded by Japanese supermarkets and eateries. The central location in Stadtmitte is easily reached on foot and by public transport. Since it is not possible to reserve, it pays to drop by outside peak times or to bring patience.
