District
City Center
The City Center is the business and shopping hub of Düsseldorf, dominated by the world-famous Königsallee. Along the historic moat, beneath old plane trees, luxury boutiques, department stores and banks line up, while the modern Kö-Bogen with its curved architecture combines shopping and urban greenery. Around Immermannstraße lies "Little Tokyo", the Japanese quarter with restaurants, supermarkets and bookshops. With its proximity to the main station and a dense network of offices, hotels and shops, the City Center is the city's urban hub.

Location & Character
The City Center stretches between the main station and the Old Town and forms the economic and busy center of Düsseldorf. Here shopping, offices, hotels and traffic come together, and the Königsallee draws visitors from all over the world as a grand boulevard. The quarter is densely built, urban and busy, but with the planted moat and the edge of the Hofgarten it also offers islands to catch your breath.
Shopping & Königsallee
The "Kö" is regarded as one of the most distinguished shopping streets in Europe: on either side of the water-filled moat with its old plane trees, luxury boutiques, jewellers and department stores line up. The modern Kö-Bogen with its striking architecture designed by Daniel Libeskind and the planted façade of the Kö-Bogen II links shopping with contemporary urban design. If you like, stroll on from there into Schadowstraße, one of the highest-turnover shopping miles in Germany.
Little Tokyo & Surroundings
Around Immermannstraße lies "Little Tokyo", the city's Japanese quarter. Düsseldorf is home to one of the largest Japanese communities in Europe, and so authentic ramen eateries, sushi restaurants, supermarkets and bookshops are found here. The proximity to the main station makes the quarter a transport hub, from which the whole city and the region are perfectly accessible.
