The MedienHafen keeps growing: new projects between the Gehry buildings
The MedienHafen continues to develop — between the world-famous Gehry buildings, new offices, residential projects and dining arise right on the water.
The MedienHafen in the district of Unterbilk is regarded as one of the most spectacular urban development areas in Germany and continues to grow in 2026. From the old trading and Rhine harbour, a lively quarter for media, fashion, advertising and architecture has emerged. The landmarks are the curved buildings by star architect Frank Gehry at the Neuer Zollhof, which shape the picture of the harbour. Around the historic harbour basins, new office quarters, residential projects and dining establishments are arising that enliven the site in the evening too. Restaurants, bars and the nearby Rhine Tower make the harbour a popular excursion destination with a view of the water. In its further development, the city is relying on a mix of working, living and leisure. Paths along the basins invite you to stroll and to contemplate the architecture.
